Multi-Color Abstract Ben Ourain

Gorgeous handmade rug, fully handwoven in Morocco from the softest wool. This is a classic and authentic Beni Ourain rug designed with the famous geometric shapes – multi-colour on a beige to brown background.

Beni Ourain rugs are high-pile, shaggy rugs, made with raw sheep wool sheared “live” and left undyed and unprocessed. They are typically white, cream, or beige with a coloured accent, such as straight lines forming a simple grid or zig-zags. 

Each Ben Ourani is hand woven and knotted by Berber women - This level of craftsmanship can take up to weeks or months to complete a single rug. Handspun, hand-dipped in natural dyes, and woven on a traditional wooden loom – these techniques have been passed down through the generations. Each piece is imagined and carefully planned by the weaver, making each rug a piece of art and a reflection of the woman who crafted it.
